In a special "Minimizing Engine Wear" feature of the Cranks, Rods, and Pistons section of his 2009 book, "How to Build Max-Performance Chevy Small-Blocks On a Budget", on page 49, David mentions our ACES IV Gasoline Formula, noting that "I have dyno tested many "wonder additives" and few are worth the money. As a bore-wear inhibitor and fuel system/injector cleaner, ACES is an exception...Taking the least worn cylinder of the engine running on untreated fuel and comparing it with the worst of the ACES treated engine revealed that this additive reduced bore wear by a minimum of 600%. Also, it was found that exhaust-seat recession on the non-hardened seats of the test engines was about halved...Half a dozen tests showed power gains from reduced friction in the region of 1 to 1.5 percent.
